Key Topics in High Performance Design, Specifications, and Construction

This workshop, presented by Peter Yost of BuildingGreen, builds on the previous content of the AIANH 2030 & Beyond series. Residential building enclosures today are complex and highly variable, in their design, specification, and construction. This course will move quickly from the basic principles of hygrothermics (how heat and moisture move on, in, and through our assemblies) to the techniques to evaluate conventional and alternative enclosure systems. The course will cover "getting spray foam right or working without it" and advice on selecting high performance produts, materials, components, and systems. Participants will learn techniques from projects the instructor has worked on over recent years and then in small groups, participants will employ the same techniques on their own projects. Peter Yost is a principal and Vice President – Technical Services with BuildingGreen, Inc. He has been building, researching, teaching, writing, and consulting on high performance homes for more than twenty-five years. Registration and more information.
