Hard Hat Tours

This program was formed to showcase building projects at different phases of construction and of different building types. The tours are led by an architect so that Emerging Professionals and Young Architects are eligible to receive IDP credit and CEUs for the tour.

For each tour, drawings and specifications will be available for review and any areas of special construction will be pointed out. The drawings will document different formats, standards and practices used in other firms. Often a tradesperson is available to give a brief discussion, for example a quick walk through of a mechanical system, masonry construction, roofing or some other technology.

The logistics of this program are:

The tours will take place first thing in the morning or at the end of the day.
Each person attending the tour needs to bring his/her own hard hat and wear appropriate attire.
Each attendee is responsible for finding their own transportation to the site.
The tours will be free and have no more than 20 participants.
