Lead Juror

Peter MacKeith, Assoc. AIA

Peter MacKeith is dean and professor of architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas, and he serves as lead commissioner and curator for the U.S. Pavilion at the International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale 2025. A nationally recognized leader in advancing the cause of a wood product-centered approach to architecture, engineering, and construction, MacKeith is guiding the design and construction of the Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation in Fayetteville, a $43 million regional center for research and development of new wood products and new approaches in affordable housing, designed by Grafton Architects, the 2020 Pritzker Prize winner.


Tom S. Chung, FAIA, LEED BD+C

Tom Chung is a principal of Leers Weinzapfel Associates, recipient of the national AIA Firm Award and numerous national and international design awards. He designs buildings to be welcoming and sustainable, reflecting his social and environmental values, and he shares his design passion and built work experience with peers at conferences and with students through teaching. Chung is Professor of Practice in Architecture at Auburn University and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the University of Virginia. He served on the board of WoodWorks and currently serves on the board of the Boston Society for Architecture (AIA Boston chapter). Chung received his degrees in architecture at the University of Virginia and Harvard University Graduate School of Design.


Roy Decker, FAIA

Roy Decker co-founded Duvall Decker Architects in Jackson, Mississippi, a place defined by both palpable need and engaging culture. The firm is a diverse and expanded practice, employing planning, development, design, and building care to promote the quality of the built environment and the health and well-being of its inhabitants. After receiving a Master of Architecture degree from Kent State University and prior to founding Duvall Decker, he split his time between practice and teaching, including positions at Temple University, Mississippi State University, and Jackson State University. He is a member of the American National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the American Planning Association (APA), and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).


Susan Jones, FAIA

Susan Jones brings design to drive systemic change since the inception of her award-winning, female-led/owned architectural firm, atelierjones, in Seattle. Jones and her firm have become national leaders in disrupting 20th-century construction practices to introduce environmentally responsible and bio-based material systems at scale. She earned degrees from Stanford and Harvard University Graduate School of Design, began her practice in Vienna, and was a Fulbright scholar in Berlin before returning to the Pacific Northwest. She is an Affiliate Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Washington and was awarded the AIA Seattle Gold Medal and the national Women in Architecture award, both in 2024. Atelierjones is one of 54 firms representing the U.S. Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2025.
