Secretary
Kelly Stanford, AIA
Harriman
I view architecture as a creative expression of community development; with the ability to influence and impact not just the built and natural environment, but the who, what and how we live our lives. It is a great and passionate responsibility. With the support of several great mentors and educational opportunities along the way, I have been practicing architecture in my home state of New Hampshire for 13+ years. I'm proud and excited for this opportunity to serve my professional community. My hope for my tenure is to contribute enthusiasm and expertise to AIANH's sustainability and next generation educational outreach programs, as well as learn a few things along the way. When not 'on the clock', you can find me running Ragnar races around New England, DIYing, visiting breweries, yelling at a Bruins game, attempting to golf, or up at the family lake camp with my husband and dog.

The Young Architects Forum (YAF), a program of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the College of Fellows (COF), is organized to address issues of particular importance to recently licensed architects, within 10 years of licensure. YAF is an outgrowth of a 1989 AIA Grassroots program. The issues raised and potential benefits visualized at that meeting led to the 1991 formation of a national YAF advisory committee to encourage the development of national and regional programs of interest to young architects and the creation of YAF groups within local chapters.

1. Advocate the value of small firms, the national SFx, and local SFx groups, both within the AIA and to the public.
2. Curate and disseminate the most pertinent resources and information, from the AIA & elsewhere, that benefit small firms.
3. Inform the AIA of current issues facing small firms and areas in which current resources/information are lacking.
