Input Opportunity for the PREPARE Project  Assisting coastal communities with preparing for flood recovery

The Preparing for Resilient and Equitable Post-disaster And Recovery to Events (PREPARE) project, led by the NH Department of Environmental Services, assists New Hampshire’s 17 coastal communities with preparing for flood events to ensure all community members are represented and assisted in the post-disaster recovery process. The project is funded by a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) grant awarded to the NHDES Coastal Program.

This project includes 4 major components:

  1. Stakeholder Engagement (Fall 2025)

  2. Community Technical Assistance and Training (Summer 2025 - Summer 2026)

  3. Community Flood Recovery Network (by March 2026)

  4. Regional Assessment and Action Plan (by March 2026)

NHDES is currently gathering public input about past and future flood recovery efforts, open until December 2025. They welcome coastal residents and businesses to complete the survey.
