NH Architecture Foundation
The New Hampshire Architecture Foundation was established by the New Hampshire Chapter of The American Institute of Architects in 2007 as a grant-making vehicle for programs supporting its mission: to foster understanding of quality in architectural design, construction, and preservation by raising public awareness of and expectations for architecture and the built environment and to encourage individuals to act as advocates for good design in the planning and design processes that shape their communities.
The NHAF considers grant applications for programs and activities that elevate public awareness of and participation in the planning, design, and construction of our communities.
Support for Educational Programs
When funds are available, The NHAF awards grants for programs that offer educational opportunities for the public and involve participation and support from local design and building professionals. The Foundation seeks to promote quality in design, construction, and preservation and to foster sustainability and an understanding of design excellence in the built environment. To this end, the interested public, as well as design professionals, developers, contractors, and business groups are invited to become involved in and support the New Hampshire Architecture Foundation.
The NHAF provides support to teach children through the AIANH Learning by Design initiative, an elementary, middle, and high school outreach program.
Support for Emerging Professionals
The NHAF provides support for the AIANH Intern ARE study-guide program and the annual AIANH Young Architects Design Competition.
Scholarships for Architecture Students and Students in Related Fields
Providing scholarship assistance to future design professionals is an important part of the work that supports our mission. The Foundation and the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Institute of Architects jointly sponsor two scholarships. Application and more information.
The AIANH/NH Architecture Foundation Scholarships are funded in part with a grant from the AIA Component Scholarship Program.
